About the Residency: Asteria Space, a start-up born in 2019 in 2024 was the winner of the call for proposals “Luoghi Comuni” of the Region of Apulia, thanks to which was founded Asteria Guest&Artist House, a structure designed to accommodate tourists and artists in a residence located in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy: Roseto Valfortore. Nestled in the Monti Dauni, immersed in the unspoiled nature of the Vetruscelli forest and surrounded by a timeless atmosphere, this small town of about 900 inhabitants is the perfect place for research and artistic production.
What you get: Roseto Valfortore, immersed in the green landscapes of the Dauni Mountains, is a village that offers an intimate and collected dimension, perfect for those who want to work in an environment free from distractions and stimulated by the beauty of nature. Away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, artists can immerse themselves in a creative environment with historic architecture, breathtaking panoramic views and a welcoming community. Roseto has an ancient history and a sister city in Pennsylvania born during the emigrations to America from late '800. It is a closely linked village, therefore to the Tourism of the Roots since numerous emigrated Rosetan come in the village in search of their origins. Roseto is a town of truffle, preserves the tradition of stonemasons whose shops are present, preserves an old mill water visitable near which is a picturesque pool surrounded by the mountains.
• Accommodation: the selected artists will be hosted in an apartment, equipped with kitchen, located in the heart of the historic center of Roseto Valfortore, in an environment immersed in the tranquility and beauty of the village, adjacent to an amphitheater overlooking the Monti Dauni.
