Applicants must be current residents of Toronto and must not be enrolled in any arts degree or diploma program

Cedar Ridge Creative Centre is dedicated to engaging and supporting artists and encourages applications from members of equity-deserving communities, including racialized persons: Indigenous, Black, People(s) of Colour (IBPOC), persons of disabilities, 2SLGBTQIS+ and more

About the Residency: The Cedar Ridge Summer Residency welcomes one visual artist from July 2 to August 29, 2025, culminating in a September exhibit of the resident’s work in the Cedar Ridge Gallery. The residency offers a working environment that supports the artistic process for emerging and mid-career artists.
The 2025 Residency site is The Gardener’s Cottage, nestled in the Cedar Ridge park and gardens, overlooking a ravine with the Highland Creek below. The cottage is adjacent to the Cedar Ridge Main House, which holds galleries and instructional art studios.
The residency offers a working environment that supports the artistic process. The artist will receive a residency package, which includes:
The use of the Gardener’s Cottage studio during the Centre’s regular operating hours
Exhibition space at the Cedar Ridge Gallery for two weeks from September 6 to September 24, 2025
Promotion of final exhibition through established City of Toronto channels
Five hundred dollars in art supplies
Cedar Ridge Creative Centre’s support connecting the recipient to the community, art networks and/or to pursue outside grants for the term of their residency
In accordance with the CARFAC 2025 fee schedule for Exhibitions with Art for Sale, the eligible exhibiting artist will be paid both an exhibition fee (Section 1: A.1.7) and an installation fee (Section 4: C.7.0), based on number of artworks and hour duration of installation
