Indigo Mentorship Residency Program
The Mentorship Residency Program at Indigo Arts Alliance in Portland, Maine, brings together artists from diverse backgrounds of the African Diaspora to engage in their creative processes while building lasting relationships rooted in co-mentorship. The program pairs a National or International artist with a Local/Regional artist to foster rich conversations, collaborations, and exchanges of experiences, knowledge, and technical skills. Artists are encouraged to work independently but are expected to dedicate 8–10 hours weekly to joint activities, including community engagement and collaborative projects. The residency provides 24-hour access to a flexible 3,000-square-foot community studio equipped for various disciplines. Visiting Artists are provided with private housing within walking distance of the studio.

Artist Eligibility:
The participating artists in our Mentorship Program serve as either Visiting Artist or a Local Artist. To learn more please visit our FAQ page. The eligibility for both artists are listed below:
Artists must be a descendent from any of the African nations, African-American, Afro-Latin, Caribbean, i.e., the communities inhabiting the geographic breadth of all the places where Africans were displaced as a result of the transatlantic slave trade, Native Americans, indigenous peoples, Latinx, Southeast Asian/Indian African Ocean World, the Middle East, and the Pacific Rim.
Residents should have 2+ years of exhibition and/or studio experience.
Artists must present a sustained commitment to their practice, risk-taking, and clear concepts and creative methodologies that advance artistic expression.
Artists must demonstrate a relationship with the communities in which they live, work, or care about.
Applicants must be 21+ at the time of the proposed residency.
Artists of all disciplines are encouraged (Painting, sculpture, illustration, writing, dance, music, theater/performance, photography, fiber/textiles, etc).
Applicants cannot be enrolled in a full-time academic program at the time of the residency.
If artists maintain a full time job, they must plan their work schedules to accommodate a minimum of 75% time in the studio during residency.

Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency
Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay invites local and international artists, curators, programmers, writers, researchers and practitioners across all disciplines in the performing arts to apply for the Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency, taking place in Singapore between April and June 2026. Residency Program in Namibia for Artists from Baden-Württemberg
Akademie Schloss Solitude, the National Art Gallery of Namibia, and Goethe-Institut Namibia continue their residency program fostering cultural exchange between Namibia and Baden-Württemberg. In 2026, two artists from Baden-Württemberg will receive 6-month fellowships (February–July) in Namibia. The program includes public events like readings, exhibitions, and workshops, and supports engagement with local cultural communities. Artists from all disciplines—visual and performing arts, music, design, literature, and art education—are invited to apply with projects of their choice.

Eligibility: Individuals of all ages may apply for the fellowship (no enrolled students). Good English skills are necessary. We especially welcome applications by Black, Indigenous or People of Color. As well as persons with an international biography, in particular persons of African descent living in Baden-Württemberg.

Siena Art Institute Residencie
The Siena Art Institute invites professional artists and writers for residencies in Siena throughout the year. They pursue independent projects while providing insight and inspiration to our participants. Visiting artists & writers are asked to give a public presentation upon their arrival in Siena to introduce themselves & their work to our community. They are also asked to hold formal critique sessions with our students.
Visiting Artist candidates are selected from around the world through an invitation-only nomination process. The Siena Art Institute accepts direct applications for Summer Residency Program, Studio/Casa Residency Program, and Studio Residency Program.

The open-call program “International Creator Residency Program” aims to invite distinguished and highly motivated creators in the fields of visual art, film, design, and architecture from all over the world and offer them with opportunities to work in Tokyo. We provide financial support to allow creators to develop and present new works and ideas. The result of the residency will be presented at the OPEN STUDIO and/or the Result Presentation at TOKAS Hongo.

Hambidge Center’ Artist Residencies
Situated on 600 acres in the mountains of north Georgia, Hambidge is a sanctuary of time and space that inspires artists working in a broad range of disciplines to create works of the highest caliber.

Eligibility: Qualified applicants must be working at a professional level in their field. We seek applications from emerging and mid-career creatives, as well as from those who are established with national and/or international reputations.
Applications for residency are judged primarily on the quality of submitted work samples and professional promise. Hambidge accepts approximately 170 artists each year. There are no publication, exhibition, or performance requirements contingent on a Hambidge residency.
The Hambidge Center encourages creative professionals of all backgrounds to apply for admission. We celebrate varied ideas, world views, and personal characteristics, and are committed to being an organization that welcomes and respects everyone regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, race, religion, philosophical or political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, nationality, geographic origin, and socioeconomic status.

FEES & FELLOWSHIPS
The actual cost of a residency is $2250/wk. Every year, the Hambidge Center raises funds to supplement $1950 for every residency week, leaving each resident with only the $250/wk fee.
Hambidge offers several merit-based Distinguished Fellowships which remove the fees for a two-week residency and provide a $700 stipend. Available Distinguished Fellowships vary from session to session and are listed in the Awards & Financial Assistance section of each session’s application. STUDIOS
Hambidge has 9 secluded cottage/studios which provide living and working space, feature great views, lots of privacy, kitchens and bathrooms.
MEALS
Resident Fellows gather each evening Tuesday through Friday in Lucinda’s Rock House for delicious vegetarian fare prepared by our talented chef.
SETTING
Hambidge is located on 600 pristine acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains featuring nature trails, meadows, waterfalls, a swimming hole, an abundance of wild flowers and crisp, clean mountain air.

The Emerging New Media Artists Programme is a supported one-year programme of theoretical engagement, creative production and technical training for emerging artists working in New Media and Digital Art. Developed in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, the programme offers participants access to cutting-edge technology, production facilities, and mentorship from leading international artists and scholars.

Deadline: June 16, 2025 – Diriyah Art Futures (DAF), the MENA region’s first New Media Arts hub, has announced a call for applications for the second cycle of its Emerging New Media Artists programme, set to launch in October 2025.

Eligibility: The programme is designed for artists worldwide who are 35 years or younger, at graduate or postgraduate completion stage, with experience in New Media and Digital Art.
About the residency: The Emerging New Media Artists Programme is a supported one-year programme of theoretical engagement, creative production and technical training for emerging artists working in New Media and Digital Art. Developed in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, the programme offers participants access to cutting-edge technology, production facilities, and mentorship from leading international artists and scholars.
Over the course of the year, participants will explore themes such as AI, virtual and augmented reality, sound, cinema and digital archives, culminating in a final curated exhibition at DAF.

In the following six months, you will receive personalised mentorship from prominent artists, while you produce your artwork using the technologies offered by the Diriyah Art Futures labs. You will have access to cutting-edge technologies such as advanced audio-visual techniques, immersive reality, coding, sensing, machine learning and spatial audio-visual environments. The artwork you produce will be exhibited with Diriyah at Futures as a final curated and juried outcome of the one-year programme

MANGO Residencia para Artistas (Buenos Aires – Argentina), in collaboration with Moku Art Studio (Los Angeles – U.S.), proposes a program where the objective is: a shared virtual exploration with and among artists to create a personal project that will have a virtual exhibition, connecting with the ocean. This program has been recently incorporated by UNESCO – Ocean Decade as an official activity. The creative process is enriched through shared experience. Opened to all artists disciplines! The program has a duration of 5 virtual meetings (1 per week) + 1 “Virtual Open Studio” which will also serve as the opening of the virtual exhibition. During the program, the artist must develop an artistic project. It should consider, in some aspect (whether technical, conceptual, reective, or experiential), the theme: “Ocean”.

Kyoto, once the imperial capital of Japan for over a thousand years, is renowned for its timeless charm, classical Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and refined traditions. With a population of approximately 1.5 million, the city elegantly merges its storied past and modern innovations. Countless UNESCO World Heritage Sites and centuries-old cultural practices draw visitors from around the world to explore Kyoto’s exquisite landscape. In October and November, the city enjoys mild weather, with average temperatures ranging from 17°C (63°F) to 12°C (54°F).
Although there will be several scheduled events during your stay, the primary purpose of the retreat is to give you an opportunity to immerse yourself in various aspects of Japanese culture and to meet other creatives. You are not required to make new work during the retreat. We want you to have ample time to explore Japan and get inspired in a calm, nurturing environment.
