About the residency: The Shanghai International Paper Art Biennale has been held in Fengxian District, Shanghai, for the past nine years. 2025 marks a milestone: "Ten Years of Progress, Ten Years of Spring and Autumn". The upcoming exhibition, themed "Paper and Water", will be accompanied by the IAPMA Congress 2025, held concurrently in Shanghai.

The organisers invite artists from around the world to actively participate in and witness this special edition of the biennale.

Who Can Apply: All artists working with paper or whose work aligns with the theme "Paper and Water" are encouraged to apply.

Benefits:

  • Works will be exhibited and sold at the annual charity fair organised by an art foundation

  • Inclusion in the official exhibition catalogue

  • Certificate of participation issued by the Culture and Shanghai Fengxian Museum

  • Media exposure via prominent outlets

  • Possible invitations to:

    • Speak at local colleges

    • Serve as an art adviser to local government

  • Selected works may be acquired by museums in Fengxian District or paper art museums
