AA2A Artist Residencies Across England

About the residency: Artists and makers are invited to apply for AA2A residencies at universities across England. These opportunities provide access to workshops, facilities, professional support, and the chance to develop, create, and exhibit new work over the academic year. Open to early, mid, and late-career creatives working across a diverse range of traditional, contemporary, and emerging art forms.
Eligibility: Artists must have at least one year of professional arts practice. Artists must have availability within the academic year and commit to 80+ hours on-site. Artists must be able to work with minimal technical support as the main focus for staff is their students.
What you get: Free access to high-quality equipment and facilities. Access to lecture programmes, libraries etc (access varies). Being part of an academic/art school community with opportunities to network with other artists, students, staff, collaboration with other departments/schools, invitation to events etc. (varies at different hosts). Opportunity to attend AA2A free online employability seminars and employability talks. Access to our Artist Support Fund - https://aa2a.org/artist-support-fund/ to help with travel, childcare and materials costs (eligibility criteria apply). Part of a unique national residency scheme involving 12 universities/colleges and around 60 artists per year, which aims to support inclusivity and diversity. Exposure on AA2A's growing social media platforms as we share artists' posts. Some hosts offer exhibition opportunities and/or paid work.
