Hotel ACTUAL – Open Call for Contemporary Artists

Eligibility: Individual artists of any nationality who work within the field of contemporary visual arts. All disciplines are welcome (painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, etc.). Applicants must be over 18 years old. Five artist profiles will be selected: – 1 international artist – 2 national artists (based in Spain) – 1 artist based in La Rioja – 1 student currently enrolled at ESDIR (Design School of La Rioja) Residency is the main criterion for assigning categories.
About the call: Hotel ACTUAL transforms a hotel into a contemporary art fair where each room becomes an immersive installation. Part of the ACTUAL 2026 Festival (Spain), this initiative offers selected artists free exhibition space, accommodation, per diem, production support and institutional promotion.
What you get: Selected artists will receive the following support: – Free exhibition space: one hotel room as their personal art installation – Free accommodation in a double room with breakfast for the full duration of the event – €800 production grant – Travel support (for artists living more than 120 km from Logroño) – Daily per diem allowance during installation and exhibition days – Free parking at the hotel – Technical support for installation, lighting and transport of artworks – Participation in round tables and artist talks with curators and cultural professionals – Inclusion in a printed catalogue (1,500 copies) – Continuous video projection of the artist’s process on a large LED screen – Direct contact with collectors and cultural agents in a dedicated VIP area – Direct artwork sales (no commissions or gallery fees) – Visibility through institutional channels and official communication platforms
