About the residency: The Rijksmuseum invites one artist to join its annual residency program. Access the museum’s collections, archives, labs, and expertise. Develop a new artwork inspired by the Rijksmuseum’s history or collections.
Eligibility:
Mid-career Dutch or non-Dutch artists embedded in the Dutch art scene
Must have lived/worked in the Netherlands ≥2 years
Research-based practice required
Experience with public institutions/large-scale commissions
What you get:
Stipend: €45,000 (paid monthly)
Production budget: €60,000
Travel allowance: €5,000
Studio support (if required)
Workstation at the museum
Artwork ownership retained by the artist
